Happy Day!
Four years ago today, Geoff and I went on our First Date. Blue Koi in Kansas City followed by a Royals game.
Last night, Geoff asked me to marry him! Of course I said yes!
It was perfect, very us.
Geoff, bless his heart, wanted me to help with my own ring. So today we are going to our favorite local jewelery store, Goldmakers, to see what we can find. As we are on a strict budget, we might be looking elsewhere. Luckily, I've found some excellent jewelers on Etsy via Juile+Todd via benny&martha
I'm pretty excited to find a ring and start planning a wedding! Fortunately, Geoff and I are on the same page about what kind of wedding we want: Very Small and Very Simple!
But first things first, in other crazy weddingness, in two weeks my lovely friends Erin & Blake are getting married and I am very excited for a friendly reunion.
I've also decided to take a weekend trip to Chicago to help Martha with her wedding planning. Hopefully we can get some major crafting done and maybe a little shopping!
Right now, I'm just beaming with excitement! I was so happy to share the news with our family and close friends last night, and with the rest of the world (haha) today.

Growing older...
So this Friday is my 25th Birthday, an event I've been dreading for awhile. I know that turning 25 isn't that big of a deal, it just seems that time has flown by the past few years. I can clearly remember almost all of my birthdays, going back to age 5.
I've always loved parties, especially themed parties. There has been a Rock n' Roll Party (age 9), Happy Face Party (age 12), Pirates & Ninjas (age 20), and of course many more.
Really my favorite thing is to just hang out with family and friends, eat good food, have a few drinks, and soak up the scorching hot sunshine.
This time of year brings nostalgia for birthdays past, and it also lets me be a little selfish. After all, who doesn't love presents? Since money is tight everywhere these days, here are a few things I've been lusting after.

Village Fashion Show!
This Friday April 10th, I will be helping out with the Village Fashion Show in KC. The event will be featuring two awesome ladies that I work with, and their lines, Belle Amie, and Kitty Reese.
Along with the fashion show, there will be some bands, and booths set up to purchase clothing by the designers! I will be helping to run the booth for my coworkers. They are paying me in clothes, which is pretty much my dream.Navy body suit by Kitty Reese, available at Bluecollardistro.com. Recently seen in Bust Magazine!

Kitchen Update!
So the kitchen has actually been done for a few weeks now, but I've been too busy cooking to blog about it.
So BAM! This is it, and I love it!
I got these prints on Etsy from Berkley Illustration. I knew I had seen the artist before, but I just couldn't place him. Then I realized that Mary picked up a print at an art fair last fall!
I may just have to start collecting them, every time I look there are more that I love!

I want it.
The kitchen will offically be done today, so hopefully I can take more photos and get them up soon. My lunch breaks for the past month have been spent in my office, instead of at home. I usually spend the time reading blogs and shopping online.
I am really wanting a Holga camera right now. Its been years since I've shot on 35mm, and my camera needs a very expensive repair.
What draws me to the Holga cameras are the low-prices (great for experimenting), and the slightly dream-like quality of the photos. Of course I want the cat-face camera.
Too cute, my friends.

Cut + Frames
This week was a productive appearance week for me. After one failed pair of glasses, I got the ones I really wanted (sorry, Mom). They are a nice change for me, as I have had the same style of glasses for the past ten years or so. Boooooring.
Today my friend Megs (she rules) thinned my hair out a bit. I love going to get my haircut by her, she's really starting to get a better feel for my hair, and has been with me while I've been growing it out. We decided I might actually be a long hair type of girl. Cool, eh?
Kitchen remodel post this weekend! The cabinets go up tomorrow and I could not be happier! I've been looking at recipes to get lots of ideas stock piled. OOOH and if you have an iphone you should get the "Allrecipes.com Dinner Spinner", it is really fun to play around with.

I will miss this kitchen...
This past Monday, the remodel started on our kitchen. I will be tracking the progress on my blog, but here are a few pictures of what the kitchen looked like before demolition.
I will really miss the yellow sink and countertops, but they are so damaged its not worth keeping them. As for the cabinets, they are mostly rusted-out and will also be replaced.
The progress is coming along quickly, we have about two weeks left. I've also decided to paint the kitchen grass green to match the rest of the living room.
I cannot wait to cook in the new kitchen!
